Zortrax Agribusiness Fund is a global venture agribusiness fund firm supporting early stage agribusiness ventures. We believe that with early funding and rigorous support, exceptional leaders, tackling some of agriculture most complex problems, can make the world a better food secure place.

We fund early-stage organizations and focus oriented individuals globally and we become often their first institutional investor, as well as their first “outside” board member. We invest in a wide variety of agribusiness sectors.

Our Model

Borrowing from our experience in agribusiness field over the years, we have created a simple yet unique model for working with agribusiness entrepreneurs: we find, fund and support entrepreneurs with exceptional promise and impactful agribusiness ideas that have the potential to scale. Over the past 4 years since establishment of ZAF, we have seen our portfolio organizations materially impact the lives of thousands directly and indirectly.

FIND
Through exhaustive due diligence on hundreds of potential portfolio opportunities, including working in close contact with networks and institutions across the public, individuals, private and non-profit sectors, a select group of exceptional agribusiness leaders and organizations become part of Zortrax Agribusiness Fund portfolio.

Two beliefs drive Zortrax Agribusiness funding model:  
1) unrestricted capital is the most precious capital that agri entrepreneurs need to build and harness their agribusiness skills.
2) Multi-year funding, as opposed to a one-time fund, is a critical success factor in helping great and well organized farms reach higher scale as far as food security and earnings is concerned.
The multi year Zortrax Agribusiness funding is usually for the farmers and organizations who have shown exception skills  and profitability as far as farming is concerned. 

SUPPORT
Zortrax Agribusiness Fund giving early stage farmers and organizations funds and checking in periodically isn’t enough. Our approach is different. We partner with the leaders of our farming organizations and provide rigorous, ongoing support, including taking a board seat for four years. We work day and night with our entrepreneurs, opening our networks, facilitating meetings, convening critical resources and working side by side with each leader to help them reach their full potential and build their farming organization to scale. We believe in, if you succeed in the farm Zortrax Agribusiness Fund also succeeds. We love success stories.

What we offer

We fund farmers through debt and equity financing providing support to establish and develop some of the biggest and most successful  agribusinesses in the countries we operate in.
We offer agribusiness loans debt and equity of up to USD 10 million. Our long term target is to be able to fund USD 10 billion within the next 20 years, in Africa and Asian Continents which is a no mean feat but we are up to the challenge. We love challenges.

Agribusiness Consultancy

Depending with your location globally and the funding amount in question, you will be required to pay an agribusiness consultation/advisory and due diligence fee of the total funding of your project as per your proposal for organizations and individuals. The fee is paid after the approvals of your funding request, at the signing of your agreement.
For funding amount over USD 100,000 is 1 %  and for funding below USD 100,000 is 3%

Fund Approvals

Once your funding proposal has been accepted, approved, and both parties have signed, it takes 24 months for the funds to be available unless under special circumstances the funds are available in 12 months.

During this period we make sure that we have ticked all the right boxes as far as the project is concerned. Every single project that we bring on board and approve for funding is important to us thus a window timeframe for a personal touch and aligning a few don'ts to make the project a success in future.
Farmers are on the front lines of climate change, and are at the core of ZAF. By co-collaborating, we can ensure solutions are viable, data-grounded and economically and environmentally sustainable. As no two farms or ranches are alike, climate practices must be equally diverse and customizable.
